Senior Industrial Designer

Defense & Autonomous Systems · Advanced Hardware Integration · 9 Years · Sketch to Deployment

I design hardware that gets deployed. For seven years at Zone 5 Technologies a DoD prime contractor building autonomous defense systems for the U.S. Air Force I served as the sole Industrial Design Lead across programs collectively valued at $250M. My scope covered the full design cycle: 2D and 3D visualization, SolidWorks CAD and payload design, OV-1 operational concept graphics, product catalogs and technical documentation, promotional media, and company branding. The work shown here represents unclassified elements of programs including the Paladin Counter-UAS drone system and Rusty Dagger missile platform both delivered to operational USAF mission environments.

I operate at the intersection of engineering and design translating complex, high-stakes technical constraints into hardware that builds, ships, and performs under real-world pressure. I've collaborated directly with aerospace engineers, program leadership, government stakeholders, and fabricators across defense, advanced mobility, and autonomous systems platforms. I work in SolidWorks, Onshape, and KeyShot, deliver across the full stack from sketch to photorealistic render, and have supported ITAR-controlled programs. Clearance eligible.

I'm actively seeking a senior Industrial Design role in defense-tech, autonomous systems, or advanced hardware. Based in San Luis Obispo, CA
